Delta Plus: The number of victims worldwide is still 200

Health officials say Delta Plus, a slightly altered version of the world’s coronavirus delta, has begun to spread to other countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States and India.

This type of new threat in India – B.1.617.2.1 or AY1 – abbreviated as ‘Delta Plus’, has already made headlines in the world media. The Delta type of coronavirus was first identified in India in February. And this month, there have been reports of about two dozen people being infected with Delta Plus in at least four states.

The UK’s Public Health England reported the first Delta Plus infection on June 11. But the idea is that such infections have been spreading in the UK since April 28.

The Indian government says it has sent samples to the Global Data System for testing this new type of genome. According to CNN, so far around 200 people have been diagnosed with Delta Plus infection in 11 countries around the world. Of these, about 30 have been reported in India. Health experts are examining whether Delta Plus is more contagious than other types of coronavirus alpha and delta. However, it is not yet time to say anything final.
One of the differences between Delta and Delta Plus is the addition of an additional mutation called K417N in the spike protein of the virus. Although experts say this mutation is not entirely new. It was spotted in Qatar in March last year. This mutation was also seen in the beta type identified in South Africa.

About 160 types of coronavirus have been identified in the world so far. The government of India said last Wednesday that there are other mutations of the Delta Plus type.

What to know about Delta Plus:
One of the differences between Delta and Delta Plus is the addition of an additional mutation called K417N in the spike protein of the virus. Although experts say this mutation is not entirely new. It was spotted in Qatar in March last year. This mutation was also seen in the beta type identified in South Africa.

About 160 types of coronavirus have been identified in the world so far. The Indian government said on Wednesday that there were other mutations of the Delta Plus type.

The delta type is mainly being blamed for the deadly second wave of epidemics in India. As Delta Plus is a new look, the Indian government is also taking it as a matter of concern. There are also fears that the new strain could cause a third wave of epidemics in India.

It is thought that monoclonal antibodies used in this type of treatment may prevent cocktail therapy. Moreover, health experts warn that it can weaken the body’s immune system.

According to the Covid-19 Genome Sequence Body of the Government of India, Delta Plus is more easily transmitted than previous variants, invading lung cells relatively easily.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. However, a professor at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom warned that Delta Plus could have a negative impact on the performance of Ticker.

Coronavirus usually changes form all the time. In many cases, the virus changes and becomes weaker. However, sometimes it becomes stronger and more contagious than the old virus, and the mutated form can overwhelm the patient more than other types.

Since then, research into this type is still ongoing to determine how contagious and deadly Delta Plus can become.
