A mob has pleaded guilty Wednesday to assaulting “Housewives of New Jersey” star Tina Manso’s husband.
John Berna, 43, of Cedar Grove, New Jersey, admitted to plotting to attack David Conte in July 2015 outside a strip mall. News release By the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Jersey.
Thomas Monso, Monsoon’s ex – husband, told Berna to attack the canteen and leave a “permanent facial scar,” according to prosecutors and indictments. Authorities said Luca was a member of the criminal family of Berna, one of New York City’s worst organized crime groups.
Investigators say Thomas Manso, co-owner of a New Jersey restaurant and wedding venue, offered to give Berna a free or discounted wedding in exchange for carrying out the attack.
Bernadette – an unarmed member of a club known as the Slapjack – and an unidentified member of his gang are accused of following Contin to a strip mall in Pasaik County and hitting him in the parking lot.
Within a month of the attack, Berna had put her wedding in place of Thomas Manso “for a fraction of the price he had to pay,” the news release said.
“More than 330 guests attended the reception, many of them members of the Lucy’s criminal family,” officials said.
The lawyer for Berna could not be reached immediately on Wednesday.
Berna pleaded guilty via video conference to committing a violent crime to assist in a fraudulent operation. He faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a $ 250,000 fine. His sentence is scheduled for April 28, 2021.
The indictment also charges 55-year-old Thomas Manso. His attorney did not immediately send a request for comment Wednesday.
