Police Dashcam video in Lake Jackson, Texas, captures the moment a mother throws a teenager to the ground after seeing her daughter peek out the window.
Said Phyllis Pena KPRC, a subsidiary of NBC in Houston., Returning home from a trip to the store at 7 a.m. Jan. 31, saw 19-year-old Jane Hawkins in her 15-year-old daughter’s bedroom.
His daughter was not in the room at the time, but Hawkins left as soon as he saw Pena and called police when he saw her leaving.
“My children are my life, I make sure I protect them,” Pena told KPRC.
The video shows the moment when the teenager accuses Pena, and his daughter helps him catch up until the police approach to arrest him.
Pena said neither she nor her children knew the suspect.
Lena Jackson was arrested after Henkins handled Pena, according to a police news release. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, avoiding arrest and resisting arrest.
It is unclear whether Hawkins has legal representation on Thursday.
“It’s not often that someone actually steps in to help arrest someone, engaging in a harmful way,” Chargett said. Roy Welch KPRC
